This translates to better sound quality on the DX 7 Although you can't split and layer on the DX 7 it would be a better synth. I would get a DX7 if I had the cash to spare. May I just add. As a keyboard hoarder myself I hope your boyfriend appreciates what you have to put up with. Lol
