WebI'd say DD2 is a sequel that takes a different direction, its early bad reviews are because DD1 fans just didn't like the change in playstyle and art direction, but its a very solid game that stands on its own. To me personally it still feels very much like a dungeon defenders game at its core, but stats and gear work way differently.
